About

A field guide to the overlooked.

Explore More is a book in progress by Chris Denbow, a writer and photographer with a habit of stopping to look at things most people walk past.

A survey marker set into a sidewalk. A sticker halfway up a lamppost. A neon sign still holding on after the business beneath it has gone. These details raise questions. Who put that there? What did it mean? What else have I missed?

The book follows that curiosity through short chapters, photographs, and activities you can try wherever you are. You won’t need specialist equipment or a plane ticket. A familiar place and a little time will do.

I’m writing Explore More offline and sharing selected passages and discoveries here as it develops. The target publication date is April 2027. The Roadmap tracks its progress, including the parts still being figured out.

This project brings photography and everyday exploration together in a book built for curious people. You can start on your own street, beside a country road, or somewhere you have passed a hundred times. No expedition required.

Chris Denbow is a photographer and writer whose interests include street markings, roadside oddities, literary culture, and the visual details people tend to walk past.

A book taking shape

The main book is in development, with a target release of April 2027. This website is its public working notebook: a place for draft passages and field exercises as the project develops.
