The Art of Noticing

01 / Observation

Choose a familiar block. Walk it slowly, without headphones. Look for five things you have never noticed before: a painted sign, a repair in the pavement, a reflection, a doorway, a patch of unexpected green. Write down what made you stop.

Return another day. Notice which details survive a second look and which ones have already changed.

Follow the Wrong Turn

02 / Wandering

At the next safe junction, take the turn you usually pass. Give yourself ten minutes without a destination. Notice how a small change in direction changes what you see.

Stay on public routes, keep track of your return, and let one interesting detail decide where you pause.

Collecting the Ordinary

03 / Collections

Photograph one kind of ordinary thing for a week. Choose something easy to find, such as hand-painted signs or repairs in the pavement. See what the collection reveals.

Put the photographs together. Repetition has a way of making differences visible.
